Monday 5-9-22 Trip to City and Georgia Victory Day Holiday
Cool and windy again, about 50F.
At about 10:00 AM Erik took us in his 1999 Mercedes 180 to the city. He parked near the Sulfur Baths.
We walked up along a stream. We stopped at a Souvenir Shop
There were lots of things to buy
The proprietor said I had to try ChahCha
She poured us each a shotglass full
We then continued up the path to the source of the stream, a beautiful waterfall
Cathy and Kathryn at waterfall
We went back down the path past the Sulfur Baths
We continued down towards where the car was parked. We passed a place selling Churchkhela, a confection made with grapes, nuts and wine on a string
I like it. Cathy and I tried it at the house
We were getting hungry and there were lots of restaurants. Erik picked one
We had a delicious lunch of pork, chicken and vegetables with beer and wine
We had quite a bit left to take home
We drove over to the Dry Bridge Market area and parked in underground parking. We were near an ATM
so Cathy withdrew some money
We proceeded across the bridge to the sales area. People just drive up and create their sales area on the sidewalk. There are lots of antiques and Soviet Era things and art.
Erik was interested in some Soviet Army Telnyashka, striped undershirts. They are striped horizontally in different colors that represent branch of service
None were Erik's size
There were some US license plates including Minnesota
There were a lot of old telephones that caught my eye
The market is open every day and is in a beautiful park area
As we drove home I saw many examples of Georgia's unity with Ukraine
For dinner we had left overs from the meals at Austrian Brewery and lunch today. I had one of the ribs an several peppers and egg plant.
